Itinerary
Day 1: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai
Meet Mẩy Phin at your hotel or Sapa Stone Church at 9:00 AM
Begin your trek down the Muong Hoa Valley, passing through the H’mong village of Lao Chai
Enjoy stunning views of layered rice terraces and wooden houses
Continue to Ta Van Village, home of the Giay people
Have lunch at a local home
Trek onward to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao village near a waterfall and bamboo forest
Stay overnight at a local homestay in Giang Ta Chai
Trekking distance: 12–14 km
Overnight: Red Dao homestay in Giang Ta Chai
Day 2: Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Ban Ho
After breakfast, continue trekking to Su Pan Village
Cross hills and suspension bridges through peaceful forest trails
Arrive in Ban Ho Village, home of the Tay ethnic group, surrounded by lush valleys and rivers
Enjoy a refreshing stream bath (if weather allows)
Stay with a Tay family and join in dinner preparations
Trekking distance: 10–12 km
Overnight: Tay homestay in Ban Ho
Day 3: Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Sapa
Light breakfast and short trek to Nam Toong, a small Red Dao hamlet
Visit a traditional house and learn about Red Dao herbal medicine
Enjoy the last scenic trek back toward the main road
Transfer by motorbike or car back to Sapa (arrive ~2:30 PM)
Trekking distance: 8–10 km
